Gifts unrecognized

I went into the city today, to be amongst people. It was a conscious act, because I didn’t leave my apartment yesterday. I try and squeeze in alone time and rest whenever I can. I went to Virgin Mega, bought some music (system of a down, U2 and Chilli Peppers–in case you were wondering). I went, got some ice cream cause it’s hot and goregous today, and sat in the park. Okay…in case you didn’t know, I’ll talk to just about anyone. And, those of you, who truly know me–know that. In fact, I know some of you are annoyed [...]

No artifical flavorings…thank you!

Posted in: Romance/Relationships- May 29, 2006 No Comments

So this weekend thing is closing soon. And, I’m tired this evening… Around this time of the year, I always feel the winds of change coming in my love life. Once upon a time, I’d go with the wind as it blew a new lover, boyfriend or something like that into my life. But, this time… I’m just not feeling it. That, and I’m simply not interested in what others are looking for anymore. I’m not easy. There, I said it. I’ve actually said it before, but, I’ll restate it for those who don’t know. It’s not enough to be [...]

Not know what’s up ahead and walking anyway

Posted in: Dreams & Supernatural- May 26, 2006 No Comments

Courage is making the choice to walk forward in life and not knowing what’s ahead. Courage is understanding growth comes with pain, and that pain cannot and should not be avoided. Courage is knowing that anything worth having must be worked for. Courage is being yourself, when every commercial, magazine and tv show and movie tells you–you aren’t good enough. Courage is carving your own path when everyone else is on the interstate. Courage is embracing fear and doing what makes you happy, because happiness is what we’re all looking for. Courage is apologizing when you’ve wronged someone and taking [...]

Why struggle? Going with the flow

Posted in: Life- May 25, 2006 No Comments

Seriously, I don’t understand why people build dams in their lives. I don’t understand why they try and fight tidelwaves, while others grab a surf board and ride the wave. I don’t understand why we try an go against nature. News Flash: You cannot go against nature! Stop! And, go with the flow. If you don’t understand the obsession with surfing, snowboarding and a lot of other sports…that’s the secret. What am I talking about? Life. I’m talking about life. We all say we want certain things out of life, yes? So, why is it that when the universe is [...]

Absence does make the heart grow fonder

Posted in: Life- May 24, 2006 No Comments

So, I’ve been away lately… but, not far, just in my head. LOL Okay, so that can be pretty far. But, I’m making an appearance here, and who knows, maybe I’ll stay a while. Every once in a while I go through major transformations as a person, we’re talking the caterpillar/butterfly variety. And, so, I’ve been working on my cocoon and I’m awaiting metamorophosis. So, I’ll let you know what I become. Although…hm…on second thought, you all can tell me. I can promise you this– the result will be a better version of me–therefore, good. You know…I’m getting old, though, I’m [...]

Loosen the grip of control over others (it's not real anyway!)

Posted in: Life- May 17, 2006 No Comments

In case you didn’t truly understand me the first time, my crew aka my family does keep the “fun” in dysfunctional. Now, mind you, I don’t think of them as any different than any other family–they aren’t. They’re just mine. So, now everyone’s up in arms, we’ve got marriages, we’ve go engagements…things that would usually be the subject of celebration. Except…you guessed it, in my crew. Okay…without going into too much detail. I’ll say that marriage should not be taken lightly. You should not marry someone out of fear of loneliness, or insecurity. You should not marry someone to control [...]

Mother/Goddess

Posted in: Dreams & Supernatural- May 15, 2006 No Comments

So, today is Mother’s Day in the U.S. the day we honor the life-bringers in this country. And, all the things that she represents– nuturing, loving, expression of emotions, intuition, intimacy…etc. Why only one day? Why does the mother only get praise and acknowledgement on one day out of the year? Don’t worry, we’ll probably be having this convo on Father’s Day too. In our current time we identify things in a dualistic way. Male/female, yen/yang, light/dark, day/night. It is in all things, no? Including us. Has it occurred to anyone (besides me) that we are made up of both [...]

No! It's not about you…well, actually, it is…

Posted in: Life- May 13, 2006 No Comments

We’ve all had the experience where someone has hurt us, or something has happened and we felt terribled and then we think…”How could they do that to me?!” Right?  We wanna scream victim, right? Well, honestly, I think being a victim is a choice. Sometimes people do things to purposely hurt us, because they themselves hurt. But, being a victim is something we don’t have to accept. We can choose differently. And, we should. When we refuse to be the victim it’s like taking our power back from the person who thinks they’ve done something to us. Can we control [...]

Back burner??? How about off the stove? lol

Posted in: Romance/Relationships- May 13, 2006 No Comments

No, no…Let me be the first to say, I don’t like having my time wasted. Seriously, I don’t. It’s rare that I get truly angry anymore, but, I’m still a libra, so, I don’t like it when people are unfair. And, what’s unfair is when a person becomes greedy about how to maintain a relationship, whether it be friendship or other wise. Mind you, I’m assuming that I’m preaching to the choir here, but, there’s still a few out there who are so immersed in…um…themselves that they don’t get it. I do not make a very good satellite. I never [...]

…and we're breathing, and we're breathing…

Posted in: Life- May 12, 2006 No Comments

Wow…it’s Thursday, yippee… It’s been a whirlwind of a week. I started a new gig where I’m working for financial analysts. Now, mind you, I’ve given suits a hard time in the past, but, analysts, they’re a special kind of nerd. Very quirky group, very quirky. What’s good about working for them is I get access to things I need for my own business, a daily issue of W magazine and things like that. And, I’m working in a job that requires thinking. In my fake life, I’m an Executive Assistant, and well, I’ve been doing it so long that [...]
